The Nook From Barnes & Noble
Gadgets — By DaveThis new dual screen eReader from Barnes & Noble (a potential Amazon.com Kindle killer) will feature 2GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, MP3 player, micro USB plug, 3.5MM jack, a Vizplex e-ink display on top and a 3.5-inch color LCD touchscreen on the bottom, it runs on Google’s Android platform, and oh yeah you can also read books and magazines off of it (you can make bookmarks, notes, and highlight sections of any ebook to help you better study). The Nook will also have wi-fi on it and will be able to go wireless on AT&T’s 3G network. The really neat thing about the Nook, is that you can share you ebooks with your friends for fourteen days but they don’t need a Nook, you can share your ebooks with them on their laptops or cellphones.
Barnes & Noble plans on releasing the Nook on November 30 for $259. eBooks for the Nook will be available at Nook.com, and Barnes & Noble is planning on having over 750,000 titles available at launch for anywhere from free to $9.95 (you can also bring your Nook inside any Barnes & Noble and browse books through Barnes & Noble wi-fi just like you would with paper books). Barnes & Noble claims on a three and a half hour charge, the Nook will have a ten day battery life.
