1972 Datsun Is The World’s Fastest Street Legal Electric Car

John Wayland, from Portland Oreland, took his 1972 Datsun and added special lightweight lithium ion batteries originally developed for electric hand tools, and now White Zombie (the name of his car) can run the 1/4 mile in under 11.5 seconds, with a trap speed of more than 114 miles per hour. His favorite thing to do in the world is to go down to the Portland International Raceway’s open drag nights and destroy all the guys in their muscle cars and expensive exotic sports cars.
